Week 8
For this last week of my technology I thought it would be fun to look into how geocahing has encouraged children to be outdoors more. This one site below introduces children to the sport by telling them that they can learn about nature, other cultures, history, and new technologies.

This next website is an easy intro for young children to understand the new sport

Awesome sites- Thanks for sharing them! I love what Seth Leary has done with students. Creating a cache with stories written by students throughout a school is a really neat idea and could definitely promote family weekend exercise. :)
I have really enjoyed reading about geocaching and would love to try it soon!
Glad to hear that you enjoyed all of the information that I have provided.
This week we are talking about Assitive Technology and I found this article about Geocaching and Assistive technology

I love the idea of a geocaching birthday party for kids. If you had kids who loved to be outdoors, this would be perfect.
Having a professional geocacher come to schools is also a great idea. Someone who really enjoys this activity could infuse a sense of adventure in kids.
I am glad that everyone likes the geocaching ideas that I have presented.
I too like the birthday party idea, I think now a days kids parties have gotten way to expensive and moved away from the activites that are outdoors, so geocaching is a great solution.
